Description Empowering People – Extraordinary Performance Start Your Next Opportunity with IAMGOLD IAMGOLD is seeking a strategic and experienced Director, Capital Projects, to lead the oversight and advancement of our capital projects portfolio across our global mining operations. This role is responsible for guiding the full lifecycle of capital projects, from budget planning and capital approval to execution monitoring and post-project evaluation. Working closely with site PMOs at Essakane, Westwood, and Côté Gold mine sites, the Director ensures that each project is grounded in a strong business case and supported by robust baselines. They will coordinate monthly Capital Request Committee (CRC) meetings and play a key role in validating project outcomes against initial expectations, presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
The Director will also champion project management excellence by equipping site teams with the tools, guidance, and best practices needed to elevate performance and consistency. This role involves direct management of consultants, collaboration with finance and technical departments, and regular site visits to maintain alignment and accountability.
Job Qualifications What You Need to Succeed We’re looking for a leader with post-secondary education in engineering, 15 years of experience in engineering, construction, or project management, ideally within mining or industrial settings, and a strong grasp of portfolio management. Project Management certification and bilingualism in English and French are assets. Success in this role requires exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, along with proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Oracle, Ecosys, and Primavera.
