Golf Course Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The golf course maintenance technician reports directly to the Golf and Hotel Facilities Manager. Under their supervision and that of their assistants, the maintenance technician participates in the daily grooming of the golf course playing surface and resort lawn care, maintaining the highest possible standards for the resort’s valued customers. The technician assists with capital projects, bunker maintenance, transitional sand area upkeep, resort landscaping, and general maintenance.
Duties:
- Equipment operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge and repair skills for irrigation systems.
- Maintenance and repair of the drainage system.
- Maintenance of turf wellness and nutrition.
- Operation of riding equipment and hand tools such as weed-eaters, rakes, and shovels.
Conditions of Employment:
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Must possess a valid driver's or learner's license.
- Able to work in an outdoor environment.
- Capable of working independently and solving problems.
- Collaborate effectively with coworkers.
- Willing to obtain a Level One First Aid Certificate.
- Adaptable to a flexible work schedule (e.g., starting at 5:30 a.m.).
- Playing golf is recommended; understanding the game helps employees achieve a higher maintenance standard.
