They deliver strategic and operational leadership by thoroughly understanding the therapeutic area and serving as a key medical resource to medical specialists, healthcare professionals, payers, and internal collaborators.

Medical Affairs Director, Hematology Toronto, Canada The Medical Director Hematology represents Regeneron in its Medical Affairs and Clinical Development functions in country. The incumbent provides scientific and medical leadership by thoroughly understanding the assigned Hematology assets and serving as a key medical resource.
Working in a multifunctional, matrix organization with Global and US teams, the Medical Director Hematology is responsible for strategic medical operations in Hematology in the country. The Medical Director Hematology aligns with the Country Medical Director and ensures that such medical and clinical activities in country are aligned with overarching global strategies, goals and operations.
You will work in a multifunctional, matrix organization within the medical affairs group, as well as with colleagues in clinical development, operations, regulatory, commercial, access & reimbursement, and patient advocacy. You will also collaborate with external partners such as healthcare practitioners, research groups, payers, and alliance partners.
In this role, a typical day may include the following:
- Scientific engagement with external communities to educate and advance scientific and medical understanding of Hematology disease areas, including the management of disease, standards of patient care, and roles of our medicines.
- Building strong working relationships with external partners, including patient groups and professional organizations.
- Continuously maintaining deep scientific and medical knowledge in Hematology, as well as a deep understanding of patient and physician interactions and clinical decision-making.
- Representing Regeneron in scientific engagement with external communities to advance understanding of our medicines, disease management, and patient care.
- Proactively bringing patients’ and physicians’ voices from a local perspective to cross-functional teams to ensure that Regeneron medicines meet their needs, while considering external stakeholders.
- Acting as an effective Regeneron representative by interacting with external experts and attending professional/medical meetings as the in-country representative for Hematology products.
- Collaborating to create the medical strategy and executing it with appropriate content for congresses, symposia, and advisory boards, facilitating and executing such activities in Canada.
- Delivering scientific presentations to diverse audiences (e.g., physicians, pharmacists, nurses, payers, agencies, and other key stakeholders) in various meetings and activities.
- Providing medical guidance and support to the local clinical research ‘field operational’ teams where appropriate.
- Assessing medical education needs in Canada and executing internal and external educational strategies as needed.
- Providing medical input into commercialization strategies in Canada while maintaining scientific integrity and serving as the local medical representative on global teams.
- Supporting the development and execution of an integrated strategy for optimal country readiness and life cycle management initiatives.
- Ensuring scientific review of local promotional materials, medical materials, and publications in compliance with Canadian regulations.
- Establishing a highly functioning, patient-centric, credible and compliant medical organization in Hematology, responsible for the management of a Hematology Medical team

To Be Considered For This Role, You Must Have
- M.D., PhD, or PharmD with expertise in Hematology disease areas.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or medical affairs, with clinical, research, or drug-development experience in Hematology.
- Successfully working in a matrix, cross-functional environment; excellent collaboration skills; experience working across functions to achieve results.
- Excellent medical communication skills and a thorough understanding of the healthcare environment, including external partners.
- Disease area expertise and medical and/or clinical experience, with demonstrated understanding of medical affairs accountabilities for evidence generation, external engagement, and internal advice.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
- Proficiency in both English and French (spoken and written) is a valuable asset.
