About the role

BIM Coordinator The BIM Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the design, coordination, and delivery of pre-fabricated modular construction projects. This role is responsible for developing and managing Building Information Models (BIM) that integrate architecture, structure, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and manufacturing data. The BIM Coordinator ensures accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration between design, engineering, and construction teams to drive project success and optimize prefabrication workflows. What You'll Do:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain accurate BIM models for modular construction projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate and integrate architectural, structural, and MEP models to identify and resolve design conflicts through clash detection and issue tracking.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to translate design intent into constructible modular solutions.
  • Support prefabrication and manufacturing processes by ensuring models include the required data for production and assembly.
  • Generate Permit/QAQC/IFC Drawings sets, Shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and other model-based deliverables as required.
  • Assist in reviewing, implementing and enforcing BIM execution plans, model standards, and project workflows.
  • Provide model-based quantity takeoffs and assist in cost estimation as needed.
  • Create and present BIM execution plans and proposals for projects, when required.
  • Collaborate with IT and BIM leadership to maintain software, templates, libraries, and digital standards.
  • Train and support project teams in BIM processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance design efficiency, reduce rework, and improve communication across disciplines.

What You'll Bring:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in BIM coordination, preferably in prefabrication, modular construction, or industrialized construction.
  • Proficiency with BIM authoring and coordination tools (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360/ACC).
  • Experience with clash detection, issue management, and model-based collaboration workflows.
  • Understanding of prefabrication, modular construction methods, and manufacturing processes is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Desire to build, implement and grow a BIM Management process, standards and protocol.

What's in it for You?

  • A competitive base salary plus a variable pay (bonus) program.
  • Eligibility to participate in DIRTT’s Employee Share Purchase Plan.
  • Health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage plus life, critical illness, and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance.
