Position: Systems Software Engineer (C++/Rust)
Type: Hourly Contract
Compensation: $65–$110/hour (base rate), with median average pay of $200/hour inclusive of bonuses
Location: Remote
Duration: 1 month
Commitment: Part-time, 15–20 hours per week, fully remote and asynchronous
Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided)
- Develop and validate coding benchmarks in C++ or Rust with emphasis on object-oriented design principles
- Curate tasks, solutions, and test suites from real-world systems code repositories
- Ensure benchmarks include robust unit and integration tests for accurate solution verification
- Debug, optimize, and document benchmark code to ensure reliability and reproducibility
- Provide structured feedback on solution clarity and adherence to systems engineering best practices
Ideal Qualifications
- Strong experience as a systems engineer at a top-tier tech company or U.S. national lab
- Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Rust programming languages
- Experience with debugging, testing, and validating low-level or performance-critical applications
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to clearly communicate technical reasoning
