About the role

A leading provider of diagnostic imaging services, Insight Medical Imaging connects in a meaningful way with our patients, physicians, and employees. Over 650 employees strong, Insight provides services in Edmonton and surrounding regions, as well as in Fort McMurray.

Insight is currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic and expanding team. This is a full time, permanent position based out of our St. Albert Clinic.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and checking in of all patients
  • Documentation of patient information on computer
  • Ensures all previous examinations are imported
  • Porter and change patients in preparation for exams
  • Handle all incoming report and image requests
  • Requesting previous exams from outside facilities
  • Looking up and importing previous studies prior to arrival of scheduled patients
  • Must maintain the utmost in professional confidence of patient information and/or results
  • Provide patients with exam preparations

  • Self motivated
  • Ability to work in a fast paced/high stress environment
  • Personal skills which include attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact with patients in a tactful and courteous manner
  • Knowledge of office routines, schedules, and protocol

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 graduate.
  • Computer experience with minimum 50 words per minute
  • Knowledge and understand of medical terminology are considered an asset
  • Medical Office Assistant, Unit Clerk, Medical Transcription program an asset
