**Range of Pay:**Group 6 - $28.02 to $32.94 per hour (Range in effect April 1, 2026)

**Characteristic Duties:**Under the general supervision of the Manager of Cemetery Services.
- Act as receptionist and perform administrative and clerical work within the scope of responsibility.
- Respond to the needs of families, funeral directors, monuments dealers, the public, and staff at the Cemetery covering all mandated services of the Section.
- Arrange appointments, receive and respond to direct telephone and public inquires providing pertinent information or direct the call to appropriate staff.
- Receive and process customer service requests in accordance with established protocols.
- Provide information on mandated Cemetery services.
- Receive revenue, process payments, invoices, billing advices; balance revenue received from all sources and prepare deposits.
- Perform typing, filing and miscellaneous clerical duties. Compose and prepare routine correspondence as required. Receive and distribute mail. Take minutes of meetings as required.
- Work with Cemetery staff ensuring documentation of all individual interment information is recorded accurately using appropriate software in a timely manner.
- Assist with providing guidance on services provided at Cemeteries including various services, procedures, policies and software specific to the Section.
- Assist with creating and updating various Cemetery forms, information sheets and booklets concerning current regulations and fees, as well as any amendments to Cemetery Services.
- Assist with the administration, documentation, tracking and reporting of educational courses or training programs using the Learning Management System (LMS) software application
- Provide assistance to the public in the completion of contractual forms regarding the purchase of Cemetery services.
- Order supplies as directed.
- Maintain attendance records, annual vacation and enter payroll data.
- Assist with maintenance of a filing system for invoices.
- Liaise with other departments on various matters related to Cemetery Services.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills in dealing with people who are in a highly sensitive and emotional state in a courteous and effective manner.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills in dealing with the public, staff and outside agencies in a courteous, diplomatic and effective manner.
- Knowledge of computer software and administrative systems in Windows and Internet based environment (e.g. file maintenance, word processing, computerized spreadsheet applications, information input and retrieval, etc.).
- Demonstrate working knowledge of the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act of the Province of Ontario.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Cemetery Sales Representative License with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario.
- Ability to communicate effectively with CGS Employees, Funeral Home Staff, suppliers and the public.
- Ability to demonstrate accurate keyboarding skills (40 w.p.m.).
- Excellent use of English both verbally and in writing is required.
- French verbal and written skills an asset.
- French written skills an asset.
- Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
- Knowledge of specialized software used for Cemetery operations would be considered an asset.
- Provide, at own cost, a current Criminal Record Check.

Development opportunity range of pay: $27.48 to $31.74 per hour (Range in effect April 1, 2026). The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced range until the minimum qualifications have been met.
