The Role

Working within corporate safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) group, you will support the consistent application of Cameco’s quality management program (QMP). Your responsibilities include liaising with BTS (business technology services), on a regular basis with regard to business/quality-oriented improvements and revisions to the Cameco Incident Reporting Database (CIRS). You are a self-motivated individual and technically skilled in working with databases and reporting tools such as Web Intelligence and Power BI. You will maintain the issue reporting system and process all software requests, coordinate, and participate in testing of modifications, and take action on system performance issues.

You will provide subject matter expertise and project specific support, coordinate operating experience (OPEX) and trending opportunities, perform preliminary data analysis and evaluate data entry, and ensure quality of various management system processes (including the corrective action process, management of change and document management). You will also act as a liaison between internal stakeholder groups, collaborating, providing technical expertise and troubleshooting technical applications and tools (e.g. CIRS). You may also be required to prepare and review reports for submission to senior management.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide subject matter expertise and project specific support.
  • Coordinate operating experience among the operating facilities.
  • Execute inspection, audit, and investigation activities.
  • Ensure quality of the corrective action and document management processes.
  • Prepare and review reports for submission to senior management.
  • Provide support and oversight related to incident tracking and follow-up (investigations and corrective actions) and management of change processes.
  • Auditing of document control processes to ensure conformance to internal standards.

Required:

  • bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, business, or a quality systems related field;

  • three or more years of applicable experience;

  • equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered;

  • experience working with database applications;

  • excellent oral and written communication skills; and

  • occasional travel to Cameco’s various locations.

Recommended:

  • experience in the development, maintenance and application of database reporting tools, such as Web Intelligence and Power BI;

  • experience performing investigations and causal analysis;

  • experience in programing and development of IT applications;

  • experience with Cameco’s corrective action process and CIRS;

  • knowledge of management system standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or OHSAS 18001;

  • a quality or auditing designation; and,

  • knowledge or experience in the nuclear industry.
