Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit and underground gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. About the Role

Position: Site Services Planner

Schedule: Shift 5/2/4/3 - 9 Hour Days

Position Reports To: Site Services Superintendent

Position Overview

Under the general direction from the Site Services Superintendent provide the necessary level of maintenance planning and scheduling support to the Site Services group, in the pursuit of excellence in asset and process reliability, maintenance management, project management, and process optimization.

  • Please note that camp accommodations are not provided for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • To perform scoping, planning, and scheduling functions for execution of the maintenance and repair of infrastructure and assets managed by the Site Services department.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors maintenance schedules for weekly and daily activities executed by Site Services personnel, as well as maintain a projected schedule of 2-4 weeks out.
  • Responsible for initial screening of incoming work notifications and prioritizing work with collaboration of Site Services supervision and management.
  • As required, coordinate with third party engineering service providers, contractors, and other specialty service providers to complete the scoping and planning of work prior to execution.
  • Ensures all aspects of health, safety, and environmental policies are considered in all job scopes and plans.
  • Administer and maintain the preventive maintenance (PM) program for all assets under the responsibility of the Site Services department.
  • Create purchase requisitions as required for parts, materials, and services to support the activities of the Site Services group.
  • Facilitate meetings pertaining to but not limited to; scoping, planning, work forecasting, and work completion (daily/weekly).
  • Produce key performance indicator (KPI) reports to aid in the optimization of the overall asset management strategy of the Site Services group.
  • Manage asset bills of materials (BOMs) for all assets under control of the Site Services group.
  • Collaborate with and assist Site Services supervision and management to manage remote storage of consumable items and for free issue shop supplies.
  • Coordinate the movement, kitting, and staging of materials between the main Supply Chain warehouse and the Site Services compound or other staging areas designated for maintenance and repair activities.
  • Manage small scale capital projects (<$100K).
  • Assist with departmental budgeting process.
  • Ensure all maintenance and project documentation is accounted for and archived.
  • Perform other Maintenance Management tasks as required and as directed by the Site Services Superintendent.

Qualifications

  • Formal education in an industrial trade is desired, or a minimum of 5 years progressive on-the-job training experience. Red Seal trade certification would be looked upon favorably.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial operations, maintenance, or construction environment.

  • Demonstrated progressive leadership, supervisory, or management responsibilities.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Intermediate-to-advanced skills with the Microsoft Office software suite.

  • Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other computer aided design tools will be looked upon favorably.

  • Previous experience with SAP ERP software is desired. Previous experience with Prometheus Software will be looked upon favorably.

  • A demonstrated commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement in assigned roles and responsibilities.

  • A focus on people and cultural change and possess a holistic view of continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Proven track record showing a commitment to health and safety and to environmental protection.

  • Valid G Driver's license is considered an asset.
