About the role

Job Summary:

This position supervises groups of Children for the Day Camp program; Afterschool, Play days, Winter Break, Spring Break, Fall Break and Summer Break Camps under MAC operated facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervision of groups of children within our day camp programs throughout the year. Duties of this job include but not limited to:

  • Supervise children within our day camps and afterschool program.

  • Organize and implement activities

  • Set rules for campers

  • Maintains a cleanliness of locations

  • Have fun with campers

  • Maintains equipment

  • Assists with filling out accident reports/better behavior reports

  • Count campers at the beginning and end of each activity

  • Handle disciplinary issues

  • Maintain daily chores and preparations for activities

Qualifications:

  • Be highly motivated to work in a variety of roles, particularly in the outdoors
  • Have at least 1 season of camp experience and/or equivalent leadership experience working with children in a community setting
  • Have a preference for working with children in the outdoors during the winter weather.
  • Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid

Knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of child development—specifically of physical, emotional, and developmental patterns.
  • A team player with experience working in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to listen to and communicate with Students, Small groups, teachers and parents
  • Possesses conflict resolution skills.
  • Possesses positive personal attitude and skills.
  • Uses good organizational skills to meet the needs of small group and individual.
  • Is capable of working with small and large classroom groups.
  • Experience in an elementary school environment.
