##Accounting and Payroll Technician
The Robin Hood Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities live, work, and play. We are proud to be one of the largest organizations supporting individuals with disabilities in Alberta.
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting and Payroll Technician to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. This position is primarily focused on accounting responsibilities, with additional support for bi-weekly payroll processing in a high-volume environment.
###Key Responsibilities
Accounting
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Complete account reconciliations and investigate variances
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare working papers and support financial reporting requirements
- Analyze financial and accounting data to improve processes and accuracy
- Support audits and special projects as required
Payroll
- Validate timesheets and maintain employee payroll data
- Support payroll reconciliations and reporting
- Assist with full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processing
- Assist with T4s, Records of Employment, and government remittances
- Ensure payroll processes comply with applicable legislation
###Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in accounting, finance, payroll, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment. Some exposure to payroll processing is required.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, account reconciliations, and financial processes is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required. Experience with Microsoft 365 and ADP Payroll is considered an asset.
This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
