With several major projects in the pipelines Rank Group has an exciting opening for a Project Manager (Construction), based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing various ongoing construction projects, to ensure we are meeting project objectives.

Responsibilities

Working with Tenants and Designers to develop their plans per the requirements of the lease; Developing project budgets for review and approval; Creating and distributing either trade bid packages or GC packages depending on project size; Analyzing, recommending, and, based on approval, awarding work; Coordinating all subcontractors, consultants, materials and equipment to ensure timely completion; providing direction and resolving problems as needed; Ensuring subcontractors are fully executing and complying with contracted scope of work Working with our Safety Advisor to ensure all job sites are safe, and in compliance with all OH&S standards; Working with Property Managers to ensure that work is done correctly and in keeping with building rules and regulations. Identifying any issues in the construction process and communicating to Construction Manager for resolution; Maintaining and enforcing good construction standards and quality control; ensuring a high level of workmanship with the finished projects.

Maintaining daily logs of activities on sites Identify any issues in the construction process and communicate to Construction Manager for resolution; Meet regularly with assigned personnel to ensure proper communication flow – raise and discuss relevant issues with personnel as needed Manage and Finalize all work deficiencies with the Tenant and or Property Manager as required.

Completing and distributing Project Close Out documentation

Education/Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in project management of construction projects Relevant post-secondary degree (e.g., engineering; construction management etc.). A combination of relevant training courses and experience may be accepted; PMP designation a strong asset;

Specific Skills & Knowledge

Proven project management abilities – able to successfully juggle multiple ongoing projects; Ability to interpret and implement blueprints and other construction drawings; Understanding of: Construction Project Management concepts Budget control concepts; OH&S legislation Strong ability to problem solve; Ability to effectively lead others; Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software; Professional in presentation and manner.

General Requirements

Criminal background check is required; Valid driver’s license; travel to various jobsites
