We are currently seeking a Second-Class Power Engineer to join our team in Bridgewater, NS .

Position Description The successful candidate will be part of the Boiler House team.
The Second-Class Power Engineer will be trained for the position of Shift Engineer responsible for operating and maintaining the steam, compressed air, vacuum, cooling water, chilled water, building hot water heating, production hot/cold water systems, wastewater systems, water based hydraulic systems, and HVAC.
In addition, when not performing the duties of a Shift Engineer, the candidate will be part of the day-based Boiler House maintenance team, performing routine and breakdown repairs to the systems listed above.
Ideal Candidate Must have a valid Nova Scotia Second-Class Power Engineer certification.
In addition, candidates must be comfortable working in confined spaces and working at heights.
Operational And Maintenance Experience With The Following Equipment
- Natural gas/light oil-fired high-pressure water-tube steam boilers.
- Rotary screw air compressors.
- Chillers with centrifugal refrigerant compressors.
- Closed loop Cooling Water Systems with cooling towers.
- Vacuum pumps.
- Centrifugal and piston type hydraulic pumps.
- Horizontal and vertical centrifugal pumps.
- Heat Exchangers (shell/tube and plate/frame).
- Waste Water Treatment including neutralization processes, clarifiers, thickener, and filter press.
- Heating/Ventilation Air Handling Units.
Compensation
- $44.37 - $53.42/hour
