What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Territorial Gas Bar Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the preparation of fresh items for the C-Store in accordance with predetermined Co-op Fresh Department specs, standards and procedures using mixers, slicers, kitchen tools, heat sources, knives and/or equipment.

  • Responsible for fresh items inventory control and ordering of store supplies related to fresh items, including packaging supplies and fresh products.

  • Maintains and ensures compliance with Discovery Co-op standards, government food and sanitation, health and safety standards.

  • Reviews and adjusts all items in display cases to ensure all stock is fronted, following first in first out procedures, and/or filled to ensure ease of guest access. Responsible for being familiar with different product codes.

  • Ensure all guests are provided with a prompt, professional, accurate, efficient and friendly service.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Customer Service and:

  • 1-2 years food preparation experience would be an asset.

  • Co-operative retail experience is an asset.

  • Safe Food Handling Certificate will be required upon hire.

  • Must be comfortable working with different types of equipment such as scales, knives, pricing equipment, step ladders, etc.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, have good manual dexterity and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work regularly in cooler temperatures due to products in department.

  • Must be able to work around hot temperatures associated with the preparation of hot foods.

  • Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends.

A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
