So, if you know where you’re headed, we have the training and career development to help you get there .Job DescriptionResponsibilities:Operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle primarily on the Dempster Highway from Whitehorse to InuvikEnsure safe and timely delivery of cargo while adhering to all transportation regulations and company policiesPerform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain truck safety and complianceAccurately complete and maintain all required documentation, including logbooks, inspection reports, and delivery receiptsNavigate challenging road conditions, including gravel roads, ice roads, and mountain passesManage load securement and weight distribution to ensure safe transportCommunicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other drivers using various communication toolsPerform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting as neededAdapt to changing weather conditions and adjust driving techniques accordinglyMaintain a flexible schedule to accommodate varying delivery demands and potential delaysAssist with loading and unloading cargo using equipment such as forklifts when necessaryAdhere to all safety protocols and participate in ongoing safety trainingRepresent the company professionally when interacting with clients and the publicStay informed about road conditions, construction, and potential hazards along the routeMaintain a clean and organized truck cabin and cargo areaThis is a full-time position based out of Whitehorse, requiring flexibility in availability and the ability to be away from home for extended periods.Qualifications Must live in WhitehorseMust own a tandem axle bunk truck, 2018 or newerPlease provide specs and picturesClass 1 License5 years of mountain experienceOff-road experience is a major assetForklift experienceMust be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 work-related references.Reliable and dependableAdditional Information What do we offer?
