Job Description Position: Product Development Intern/Co-op

Duration: 4 months
Date: May 11th - August 21st, 2026
Location: Ottawa, ON, Canada
Education Recommendations: Currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn As Part of the Team You Will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DSP ASICs, analog high-speed ASICs, and optics for next-generation coherent pluggable modules.
- Develop and simulate algorithms to enhance system-level performance across innovative projects.
- Optimize existing algorithms to improve efficiency and functionality in practical applications.
- Build and maintain lab setups for calibration, characterization, and testing of advanced optical systems.
- Conduct performance measurements and analysis to provide actionable insights for product improvement.
- Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Key Skills And Experience You're a Great Fit If You Have:
- Advanced understanding of optimization algorithms and methods.
- Fundamental understanding of optical communication systems, photonic integrated components, and electronic circuits.
- Hands-on experience with system-level optical communication hardware.
- Proficiency in high-speed optical and electrical test equipment.
- Programming experience in MATLAB and Python.
