Vice President of IT Operations

Role Description The Vice President of IT Operations is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading all aspects of IT operations and service delivery across the organization. This role oversees infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, enterprise applications, and end-user support, ensuring availability, performance, and security. The Vice President will define and implement IT operational strategies, policies, and standards, manage vendor relationships, and optimize budgets and resource allocation. Day-to-day responsibilities include directing IT service management practices, monitoring operational metrics, resolving escalated issues, and driving process improvement and automation. The role also partners with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives and leads, mentors, and develops IT teams to achieve high performance and strong customer satisfaction. Qualifications Strong expertise in IT Operations and IT Service Management, including incident, problem, change, and configuration management. Demonstrated experience in IT Management and Information Technology leadership, overseeing infrastructure, applications, and support teams. Proven ability in Strategic Planning for technology, including roadmapping, budgeting, and aligning IT initiatives with business goals. Experience implementing and optimizing ITIL or similar frameworks, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security. Track record of leading distributed or remote teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex technical topics to non-technical audiences. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP, cloud certifications) are beneficial. Experience working in mid-to-large organizations, preferably in highly regulated or security-conscious environments, is an advantage.
