The First Nations University of Canada invites applications for the position of Research Assistant for the National College of Indigenous Scholars.

The First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv) allows students of all nations to learn in an environment of First Nations cultures and values. Reporting to the Dean, National College of Indigenous Scholars (NCIS) the Research Assistant will support the research priorities of NCIS.

Duties: Under the direction of the Dean,

  • Prepare ethics applications,
  • Recruiting, screening and scheduling interviews, focus groups
  • Conducting data gathering, and data verification
  • Assisting with communications,
  • Support project organization and administration,
  • Conduct data analysis
  • Collaborating on dissemination

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should hold a master’s degree or be working towards a master’s degree.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with experience in Indigenous research
  • Have strong communication skills and ability to work independently,
  • Be comfortable with a variety of computer programs (word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
