About the role
You'll Have The Opportunity To As a financial analyst working under the department head, you will divide your time between the following duties:
- Supporting the business in monitoring costs and investigating any discrepancies;
- Ensuring effective reporting for the purposes of decision making and performance management;
- Preparing financial presentations for upper management, monthly and per budget;
- Drafting business cases to aid the company in its decision making and overall strategic direction;
- Supporting with ad-hoc tasks, special projects, and end-of-month duties.
You Will Also Need To
- Show a high-level understanding of our data sources;
- Demonstrate an ability to model performance indicators creatively;
- Develop automation and reporting access;
- Support the team by finding and providing innovative solutions that respond to needs identified by the various teams within the division;
- Identify analysis opportunities/solutions that can be integrated into the department’s workflow to improve efficiency;
- Keep on top of new analytical trends;
- Ensure that the tools currently in place are effective, as well as onboard and train team members to ensure that the required level of knowledge and expertise is maintained.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint (desirable)
- Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or accounting
- Strong analytical skills, a thirst for knowledge, and big-picture mindset
- IT proficiency (MS Office suite, SAP, Google suite)
- Proficiency in SQL and VBA programming languages (desirable)
- Proficiency in BI tools (particularly Power BI and Tableau) (desirable)
- Bilingual (essential) French & English, to process, consolidate, and explain data and financial information for our international entities
- Ability to work well as a team and with clients
- Strong communication skills
- Leadership
