About the role
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to Molding Shift Supervisor or delegate, the primary responsibilities of the IML Operator Assistant are to perform IML label verification and loading, line clearance activities including clearing the product from the line, removing labels from the magazines, banding the labels and returning to the Warehouse. In the capacity of the IML Operator Assistant role, there will be a strong emphasis on developing the team member with the necessary machine operation skills including but not limited to setting up the machine to the PPMS, start-up procedures, quality checking and defect troubleshooting. Secondary responsibilities include but are not limited to quality inspection of production parts, and housekeeping.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
IML Label Loading
- Remove banding from label bundle.
- Fanning of the bundle of labels.
- Loading fanned bundle into the magazine.
- Reloading magazines as required throughout the shift.
- Scan IML label received from WH with Job sheet to make sure the correct one will be used.
- Verify loading the correct labels are loaded with Job sheet.
Line Clearance Activities
- Unloading labels from magazines.
- Bundle and count all labels, retrieve the barcode label, and update the box with the partial label quantity on the box. Return labels in W/H.
- Clearing in and around robot, platforms, and mold machine from all loose labels and molded product.
- Follow line clearance activity in case of machine shut down and/or mold change.
Inspect Product
- Visually inspect trending tray parts for defects (when designated).
- Visually inspect for defects
- Escalate to Machine Operator when observing consistent quality defects or longer machine downtime.
Documentation
- Complete line inspection form throughout the shift for downtime related to the machine.
- Complete the line clearance checklist form during product change.
- Ensure label quantities are reported accurately. Complete forms for label returns as required.
Development of Machine Operation Skills
- Engage with machine operator to learn machine operation and various policies/procedures o Become familiar with the various forms required to be completed by the operator
- Become familiar with the start up approval process
- Become familiar with various quality checks required by the operator

- Never compromise safety.
- Treat fellow Team Members with honesty, respect, and dignity
- Meet standards of conduct
- Adhere to 5S, HACCP, SQF and Health and Safety rules.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Minimum Experience/Field: At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods of time and do repetitive tasks.
Communication Skills: Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills
