This position is responsible for care of children up to 5 years old in the Playroom while providing a safe and nurturing environment. The Playroom Staff will create a safe, caring, and engaging environment conducive to building trust with all members.

This is Part Time position, 15 to 30 hours per week, open availability from Monday to Friday, between 9am - 6pm.

Responsibilities

• Greet/interact professionally with members and children.
• Provide care to infants and toddlers including snack offerings and diaper changes.
• Engage children of all ages with a variety of group activities including craft making, swimming, and camp games.
• Creating and running childcare programs
• Prepare and serve snacks and/or meals.
• Respond to parents’ inquiries in a timely fashion.
• Promote health and wellness through hand washing, cleaning of toys, etc.
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Clean and organize playroom and putting away any hazard equipment.
• Support and assist other team members by conversing and contributing information on an ongoing basis.
• Personal/professional conduct demonstrates RGC Core Values and Code of Conduct. Demonstrates ethical principles in all daily activities.

Qualifications:

• Infant/Child First Aid Certificate or Standard First Aid/CPR C/AED is required
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check required.
• Early Childcare Level 1 is an asset

• Open Weekday Availability between 9am to 6pm.
