Stay At Home Nursing

Overview
Stay At Home Nursing is a community-based healthcare organization dedicated to delivering exceptional in-home nursing, personal support, and wellness services. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays an integral role in supporting our diverse, multidisciplinary workforce and ensuring that HR practices align with the highly specialized and regulated nature of homecare. This role demands a unique combination of strategic HR capability, healthcare-sector understanding, and advanced interpersonal skills to effectively support staff working in decentralized, client-home environments.

Role Purpose
The HRBP functions as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership, offering expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, recruitment, credential verification, regulatory documentation, learning management, and succession planning. The position requires impeccable judgment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate sensitive and complex human resource matters while upholding the organization’s standards of safety, professionalism, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Advanced Conflict Resolution
The HRBP provides guidance on a wide range of employee matters, including performance concerns, conduct issues, and workplace expectations. The role requires skill in de-escalation, mediation, and facilitating difficult conversations with fairness and neutrality. The HRBP ensures that employee relations practices are consistent, well-documented, and aligned with healthcare standards and organizational policies.

Specialized Recruitment & Credential Verification
The HRBP leads recruitment efforts for both regulated and unregulated healthcare roles, requiring strong familiarity with sector-specific competencies, professional conduct expectations, and credentialing standards. Responsibilities include candidate sourcing, structured screening, verification of certifications and training, and coordinating sector-appropriate onboarding. Ensuring that new hires are adequately prepared for independent work in client homes is a key aspect of this role.

HR Operations, Compliance & Documentation Integrity
The HRBP maintains detailed and accurate employee records, including certifications, immunization documentation, mandatory training logs, policy acknowledgements, and compliance-related materials. Given the regulatory scrutiny in homecare, this responsibility requires exceptional precision, confidentiality, and a thorough understanding of healthcare documentation requirements.

Learning Management & Capability Development
The HRBP supports ongoing employee development by coordinating and overseeing learning management activities. This includes monitoring completion of mandatory training, ensuring competency requirements are met, and administering learning pathways through platforms such as Surge Learning. The role contributes to building a high-performing workforce through skill development, upskilling initiatives, and continuous improvement of learning practices.

Succession Planning & Workforce Continuity
The HRBP collaborates with leadership to identify emerging talent, assess future leadership potential, and support the development of long-term workforce planning strategies. This includes assisting in capability mapping, documenting development needs, and helping build a pipeline of skilled staff to support organizational continuity and future growth.

Data, Reporting & HR Systems Administration
The HRBP oversees updates to HR systems, ensures accuracy in all HRIS records, and prepares reports related to compliance, credential expiries, employee relations trends, learning completion, and workforce insights. Strong data reliability is essential to support informed decision-making and ensure service quality across the organization. Experience using ADP Workforce Now is considered an asset.

Specialized Skills & Assets

The HRBP candidate should have experience or transferrable skills in the following areas:

  • Experience supporting regulated healthcare professionals (RNs, RPNs) and community-based care providers (PSWs) is an asset
  • Strong competence in conflict resolution, mediation, and handling sensitive interpersonal dynamics
