Job Summary The Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Meal Assembly Manager to lead the day ‑ to ‑ day operations of our Meal Assembly Room in Ontario. This role is responsible for overseeing tray assembly, bulk food production, ware washing, sanitation, and shipments while ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with Production leadership, the Meal Assembly Manager ensures sufficient product availability for traying, meets productivity and cost targets, and upholds all dietary, HACCP, and health and safety requirements.

The successful candidate will provide strong people leadership in a unionized, fast ‑ paced production environment, coaching and developing supervisors and hourly staff, coordinating schedules, and driving consistent operational performance. This position plays a key role in maintaining documentation and reporting accuracy, enforcing quality assurance and sanitation standards, supporting investigations and audits, and acting as a designate for senior food service leadership when required. Through a hands ‑ on, collaborative approach, the Meal Assembly Manager exemplifies our core values of Safety, Respect, Care, Integrity, Collaboration, and Excellence while delivering reliable, compliant, and customer ‑ focused meal services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily meal assembly operations including tray line, bulk food, sanitation, and ware washing.

  • Lead, train, and supervise supervisors and hourly staff in a unionized environment.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, GMP, quality assurance, and health & safety standards.

  • Coordinate with Production to meet productivity, cost, and dietary requirements.

  • Manage staffing schedules, performance coaching, evaluations, and attendance.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance.

  • Investigate operational issues and act as designate for senior food service leadership as required.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post ‑ secondary education in Food and Nutrition or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in food production, manufacturing, or assembly.
  • Advanced Food Safety certification with strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, and OH&S legislation.
  • Experience in labour relations within a unionized environment.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills in a fast ‑ paced setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to meet security clearance requirements, including a vulnerable sector check.
