Description What you’ll be doing

Organization: Ben Stelter School Fundraiser (BSSF)

Volunteer Role: AI Solutions Specialist

Role Manager: Nathan Stinner, Director Of Technology

Role Overview: The AI Solutions Specialist helps design and build AI-based tools for the Ben Stelter School Fundraiser. This role focuses on creating AI bots, experimenting with AI-powered features, and developing projects that improve organization, communication, and efficiency. You’ll work with other team members to turn ideas into practical AI solutions that support fundraising and internal operations. Please note that applicants must be between grades 7-12 in the 2026-2027 school year to apply. The role duration for this role will be from April 2026 to January 2027, with the heavier times being in the earlier spring and summer months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain AI bots or assistants for tasks such as answering questions, organizing information, or supporting team workflows
  • Develop AI-powered projects to improve efficiency and automation
  • Experiment with AI tools and APIs to find useful applications for the fundraiser
  • Test, improve, and troubleshoot AI systems to ensure they work reliably
  • Work with directors and team members to understand where AI can be helpful
  • Keep AI tools simple, organized, and easy for others to use

Qualifications:

  • Interest or experience in AI, machine learning, or AI-powered tools
  • Basic understanding of coding or scripting (preferred but not required)
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new AI technologies

Skills:

  • Logical thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to design simple, useful AI solutions
  • Clear communication of technical ideas
  • Organized and detail-oriented
