Location: Montreal (In-Office) The Opportunity We are seeking a Portfolio Associate (PA) – Marketing for Screenings, Events & Profiles to join our Montreal office and support coordination, sponsorship outreach, and distribution efforts across the Screen Portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who excels at relationship-building and operational execution. You will work closely with studios, marketing agents, publicists, and internal stakeholders to secure screenings, access opportunities, event participation, and talent profiles for Valnet’s entertainment brands. The position offers hands-on exposure to industry partnerships and high-visibility activations, while contributing to the overall reach and positioning of the Screen Portfolio.
Responsibilities Screenings, Events & Talent Access
- Lead efforts to secure and coordinate sponsorships for screenings, events, and talent profiles, fostering relationships with partners and maximizing brand exposure opportunities.
- Contribute to the ideation and execution of new, brand-relevant events that support audience growth and unlock additional marketing and partnership opportunities.
- Develop various commercialization strategies for our screenings, events, talent profiles and any new projects developed.
- Support outreach to studios, distributors, PR agencies, and partners to secure screenings, access, assets, sponsorships, and collaboration opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create sponsor packages and ensure event opportunities are “sold” and delivered effectively.
- Maintain relationships with distributors, studios, and partners to ensure ongoing access to content, talent, and promotional opportunities.
Project & Operational Support
- Manage day-to-day coordination of events and screenings, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Coordinate the internal flow of promotional assets, screeners, invitations, and partner materials.
- Maintain partner lists, contact sheets, and calendars to support long-term relationship and access management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Research
- Collaborate with editorial teams to ensure screenings, events, and profile opportunities are effectively utilized across the portfolio.
- Monitor studio calendars, festival schedules, and entertainment news cycles, incorporating distribution and access relevance.
- Conduct research on competitors, emerging trends, and distribution opportunities to inform strategic outreach and partnership initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, sales, content distribution, operations, or digital media.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Film/Media Studies, or related field.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising with publicists, studios, and internal teams.
- Familiarity with entertainment industry workflows (screenings, junkets, press cycles) is a plus.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Excel, Slack, and project management tools.
- Passion for film, TV, and entertainment journalism.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
