About the role
Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst Location: Greater Vancouver Area (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Contract: 1 Year (with extension potential)
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to support a large public sector organization in establishing and maturing a formal Quality Assurance function for enterprise Power BI reporting and analytics solutions. This role is ideal for a QA professional with strong experience testing Power BI dashboards, data models, and reporting solutions while collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and high-quality analytics delivery. Responsibilities Develop QA strategies, test plans, test cases, and regression test suites for Power BI reporting solutions. Perform functional, regression, and end-to-end testing across analytics and reporting products. Validate source-to-report data accuracy and ensure reporting reliability. Document, track, and manage defects through resolution and validation. Establish QA standards, templates, methodologies, and release governance processes. Collaborate with business users to gather, validate, and document business requirements. Participate in release planning, quality gates, and production sign-off activities. Support continuous improvement of QA processes and reporting quality. Required Qualifications 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience, preferably supporting Business Intelligence or Analytics solutions. Experience testing Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models. Strong experience with: Functional Testing Regression Testing End-to-End Testing Data Validation Defect Management Test Planning & Test Case Development Experience validating data from source systems through reporting layers. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with technical and business stakeholders. Experience documenting business requirements and QA processes. Nice to Have Experience supporting public sector organizations. Knowledge of regulatory or compliance reporting. Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar test management tools. Familiarity with SQL and data warehousing concepts. Experience working with KPI, operational, and performance reporting.
