About This Location:

Our Home Office is located in the heart of Bloor West Village in Toronto, just steps away from Jane Subway station. This role is in person only, with a requirement to attend the office 5 days a week, in a schedule of Monday to Friday, 9AM – 5PM.

About This Role:

Reporting to the Manager of Support Operations, The Application Support Analyst’s role is to deliver functional and technical support to end users in the organization about how to use various types of software programs efficiently and effectively in fulfilling business objectives. This includes troubleshooting applications and software for all internal customers, such as operations, development, and other business units. The Application Support Analyst is also responsible for assisting in the design, delivery, and improvement of SharePoint, Power Platform Applications and in-house software applications training programs and related courseware.

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant (PL-200) certification considered an asset.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps – Canvas Apps and Model-driven, Power BI) and internal business application
  • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
  • Knowledge of trends in technology relating to software applications.
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to conduct research into software development and delivery concepts, as well as technical application issues.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Very strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Occasional travel between training locations required.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research into software application products and services in support of development and purchasing efforts.
  • Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development or consideration for purchase.
  • Field, prioritize, track, and document application support tickets through to resolution, including all diagnostic steps, actions taken, and outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot application failures, connectivity issues, and workflow breakdowns by analyzing application logs, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Test fixes and perform post-incident validation to confirm issues are fully resolved and systems are functioning as expected.
  • Monitor performance and availability of all new and existing supported applications to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities including platform updates, security patches, performance monitoring, and health checks to maintain system stability.
  • Coordinate with the Learning Management team and department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.
  • Post software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on company intranet to assist in problem resolution.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, anti-virus software, and so on.
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Design, implement, and support custom Power Apps canvas applications integrated with SharePoint Online, Dataverse, and external systems to streamline data collection and reduce manual processing.
  • Build and maintain model-driven Power Apps using Dataverse, including custom tables, relationships, forms, views, and business process flows aligned with business requirements.
  • Develop and configure Power Automate cloud flows supporting complex business processes such as multi-stage approvals, data synchronization, and system integrations.
  • Coordinate platform escalations with Microsoft and third-party vendors, managing SLA adherence and resolution timelines.
