Scott Builders is seeking skilled Commercial Carpenters to support a commercial construction project. This is a temporary, project-based position for the duration of the project. This role is responsible for performing general carpentry duties including interpreting drawings, completing layouts, and working with multiple construction materials while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Job Summary

You’ll work on commercial construction projects and support project execution across multiple scopes. You’ll interpret building plans and blueprints, prepare layouts in accordance with building codes, and help keep projects sites safe and on schedule, playing a key role in delivering high-quality commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry duties on commercial construction projects (wood, steel, and concrete)
• Read and interpret construction drawings/blueprints and complete layouts in accordance with specifications and building codes
• Assist with formwork, framing, finishing, and other carpentry-related tasks
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as required
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, trades, and project teams
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow company safety policies and participate in safety programs

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Previous commercial construction experience with a strong understanding of building codes
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings/blueprints and perform accurate layouts
• Experience working with wood, steel, and concrete construction methods
• Competency operating heavy equipment with appropriate certification
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to take direction effectively
• Commitment to maintaining safe work practices and adhering to company safety programs
• Ability to pass post-offer employment testing
• Flexibility to work overtime and travel to project sites as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Carpenter trade certification
• Fall Protection certification

Work Environment and Schedule

• Full-time, site-based position on active construction sites
• Work performed outdoors in various weather conditions
• Physical labour required, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights
• Flexibility to work extended hours and overtime during peak construction periods
