We are seeking for a full-time Cybersecurity Engineer to join MetaMind Innovations P.C. MetaMind Innovations P.C is the first spin-off company of the University of Western Macedonia playing a pivotal role in the region of Western Macedonia and in northern Greece. As a deep tech enterprise, MetaMind Innovations P.C. provides cutting-edge technologies that build on advanced science and engineering innovations to bring disruptive new products to market by surpassing technological benchmarks and pushing the boundaries of current technology, including fields like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, next generation internet of things, and 6G telecommunications. MetaMind Innovations P.C is currently ranked as a top spin-off performer in Greece, while participating in numerous EU-funded projects in the context of the H2020, Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ frameworks.
As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will join either the Research & Development department in Kozani, Greece or the Business Development department in Thessaloniki, Greece. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing secure systems and architectures, conducting risk assessments and vulnerability testing and supporting both R&D and technical project implementation across cybersecurity domains. You will also assist the R&D teams and the managers with the day-to-day requirements and innovative cybersecurity solutions development, while ensuring the project’s functions smoothly.
Responsibilities
Design, implement and maintain secure system architectures and solutions Develop cybersecurity tools and components Apply cryptographic protocols and data protection mechanisms across systems Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate cybersecurity principles into innovative applications Develop security documentation, technical and non-technical report and risk mitigation strategies Ensure regulatory compliance and industry best practices are followed Participating in project planning and execution, ensuring adherence to critical milestones Availability for travel to attend project meetings, conferences, and represent the company at technical events and partner collaborations
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and M.Sc. in computer science/engineering or other relative fields Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, protocols and architectures Experience with security tools and penetration testing frameworks Knowledge of secure coding practices and scripting languages (e.g., Python) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems Problem-solving capabilities and communication skills in technical environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in working with EU-funded R&D/R&I projects Experience in cybersecurity system design for cloud, IoT, or 5G/6G networks
