As a Project Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting our organization to provide data driven continuous improvement solutions and analytical services in partnership with project management and senior stakeholders. Your Responsibilities
- Accumulate and compile accurate cost management data monthly to prepare the project report and update the progress of the project
- Aid in development of cost control/scheduling procedures, execution plan, and business plan for a project Support in Capital Projects and Engineering Services internal processes, optimizations, and data quality
- Accumulate and compile accurate cost & schedule data to support project teams
- Provide accurate monthly forecasts on all projects, identifying trends and making recommendations for corrective courses of action
- Participate in weekly project cost reviews, schedule workshops, project status meetings
- Participates and engages in monthly reviews with key vendors
- Provides meaningful, accurate historical data and documentation
- Regularly communicate and aid in the roll out of new continuous improvement initiatives

Your Skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong and effective communication skills both verbally and written, including presentations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong database skills (Microsoft suite of products is an asset)
- Strong interpersonal skills including collaboration with other teams such as engineering, procurement & contracts, construction, safety, quality, finance/accounting, operations and 3rd party vendors/suppliers
- Strong work ethic, produces accurate and credible deliverables, meets deadlines
Your Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a relevant Engineering discipline
- 5 years relevant experience or equivalent business-related work experience
- Strong in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products
- Software experience in Oracle, IBM Cognos analytics, or TM1 is an asset
- Software experience in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project is an asset
