JOB DESCRIPTION
St. Jude School, a Catholic school established in 1955 and located in the beautiful city of Vancouver, is seeking to hire a 0.4 FTE Music Teacher (2 days a week). This is a part-time position starting September 1, 2026. This position is a short term contract for those new to CISVA and Continuing Contract for those who are already on a Continuing Contract in CISVA.
The successful candidate will have a passion for music, teaching, and the Catholic faith. As a practicing Catholic, they will lead our liturgical music for our weekly school mass, coordinate and lead rehearsals for school performances and concerts, collaborate with other staff, and lead our school choirs. Proficiency in one or more instruments (orff, ukuleles, piano) will be an asset.
Only those candidates chosen for an interview will be contacted. New to CISVA applicants must apply through the Make a Future portal. Those candidates that are existing teachers in CISVA may apply directly by emailing Carolyn Smillie at the csmillie@stjude.ca. The job will be posted until filled.

For the Catholic Pastoral Reference (for Catholic Applicants) and Non- Catholic Pastoral Reference you must download the appropriate form, provide it to your Pastor for signing, and have them submit it directly to hr@cisva.bc.ca.*
On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply. Our major hiring season is in April for the following school year, but we recommend that you apply now as we receive an influx of applications.
