The Painter is responsible for applying finishes and coatings to doors, ensuring high-quality appearance and protection against wear and environmental factors. This role requires attention to detail and expertise in various painting techniques to meet production standards.
What You'll Do
- Directly reports to the Lead Hand
- Perform detailed painting tasks that require precision and skill, including surface preparation, application of coatings, and touch-ups
- Operate and maintain painting equipment, ensuring proper setup and cleanliness
- Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and quality specifications
- Directly impact the final quality and aesthetic of the doors produced, which influences customer satisfaction and product marketability
- Contribute to production efficiency by adhering to schedules and maintaining high standards in painting processes
What You'll Need
- Previous experience as a painter in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in various painting techniques, finishes, and coatings
- Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment handling specific to painting processes

In the early 1960s Cy's son, Larry, took leadership of the company and expanded our growth outside of Zeeland to other parts of the United States. Today, with Larry's son, Jeff, at the helm, ODL has sites in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, and Mexico, with distribution all over the world.
