JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a Seafood Manager to organize daily operations and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service. This role is responsible for ensuring that we always deliver the highest standards of product quality and merchandising. Our Seafood department is dedicated to supporting the local community by offering a diverse selection of seafood sourced from local vendors.
The ideal candidate should have experience in retail management, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering a positive shopping experience. You will lead a team, implement merchandising strategies, and drive sales growth while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Additionally, you should be available to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operations of the seafood department ensuring efficient processes and high standards of service
- Lead a team of 5-8 employees, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and ensure timely replenishment of products to minimize out-of-stock situations
- Create and maintain optimal team member scheduling, ensuring target labor costs are met
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
- Uphold exceptional customer service standards by training staff to address customer inquiries and resolve issues effectively
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure quality products and favorable terms
- Analyze sales data and market trends to develop strategies for driving revenue growth and meeting financial targets
- Assist with other departmental functions which include but are not limited to rotating, stocking, cleaning and maintaining the appearance and organization of the store
- Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Abel to meet a flexible with work schedule including weekends, early morning and evenings
- Excellent interpersonal skills with staff and customers
- A proven team player and who is also team-focused
- Strong problem solving and in-the-moment decision-making skills, process improvement, strategic planning, verbal communication, customer focus, management proficiency
- Skilled at prioritizing tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Able to function well in a high-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Completion of a post-secondary program related to hospitality, food and beverage service management, business or retail management is preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of experience managing seafood department or related retail experience as well as supervising operations and staff is required
- Experience operating a point-of-sale systems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
- Able to lift up to 25-40 pounds
- Comfortable working in a cold environment (coolers and freezers)
