About the role
The Garry Hurvitz Brain Sciences Centre (“GHBSC”) is first of its kind in Canada, unifying the treatments for brain illness in a state-of-the-art collaborative space. The Yuval & Lori Barzakay Brain Health Clinic, located within the GHBSC, is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, dedicated individual to join our team as Supervisor to support the daily operations and smooth functioning of multiple clinical teams and associated activities.
The Supervisor is critical to the successful day-to-day operations at the Barzakay Brain Health Clinic, working closely and jointly with the Manager.

Provide support to multiple medical and clinical teams to ensure the smooth flow of outpatient clinics by co-ordination of patient flow and patient activities.

Lead daily rounds with the PAA team, including coordination, facilitation, and providing operational guidance

Oversee scheduling process in collaboration with PAA team in order to ensure the meeting of wait time accountabilities and to oversee waitlist management.

Collaborate with and provide clinical expertise to PAA team in order to prioritize and problem-solve patient scheduling and access to clinics.

Provide operational guidance to and collaborate with clinicians regarding policies and procedures in order to inform decisions about issues in the clinic.

Problem solve at the patient level as a super user within Organisation Information Systems such as Accuro, Sunnycare, and Quadramed.

Monitor the outpatient clerical teams (union staff) and Barzakay Clinic setting (G1 and G2)

Manage human resource requirements and performance related issues, including, but not limited to: ongoing recruitment & retention of staff, conducting performance reviews, day-to-day staffing and deployment of appropriate resources.

Address patient and family concerns and ensure patient and staff safety by mitigating risk

Engage with patients and team members to problem solve around conflicts and to exercises de-escalation techniques as needed.

Create a supportive environment for patients and their families through the daily management of staffing levels, throughput of order processing, and interprofessional communication through collaboration.

Facilitate the identification, implementation, and monitoring of continuous improvement initiatives related to outpatient services.

Other reasonable duties as assigned.

May have access to confidential information related to Labour Relations
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree is an asset.
- Demonstrated understanding of general medical and diagnostic imaging terminology an asset
- Demonstration of course work and/or certificates in leadership/communication, preferred
- 3-5 years healthcare experience; outpatient experience in a setting with a neurological disease preferred.
- Working knowledge of Organisational Information Systems such as Accuro, SunnyCare, QuadraMed are required
- Recent relevant supervisory or leadership experience in health care preferred
- Superior organizational, leadership experience in health care preferred
- Demonstrated coaching and empowering style of management
- Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence and patient-centred care
- Excellent change agent skills
- Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
