Manager, Health and Safety Program Assurance - GTA
About the role
Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Manager, H&S Program Development, the Manager, H&S Program Assurance will be supporting the continual improvement of Sofina Foods Canada, by assessing regulatory and procedural requirements and supporting the development of sustainable corrective actions.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible to complete regulatory and procedural audits to ensure effective implementation of requirements to support balance across 5 dimensions of plant success;
- Supports the development of corrective actions that are sustainable, and whenever possible integrated with existing processes and functions;
- Monitor the closure of corrective actions and support audit management reviews;
- Manage the further development of Sofina Foods Canada audit program to incorporate new governance and standards that have been collaboratively developed with production and other functional groups;
- Mentor site safety specialists and plant operational staff in the development and execution of self assessments;
- Collaboratively develop and communicate the annual schedule of compliance audits.
Requirements
- University degree or college diploma in Health & Safety or science or engineering;
- Overall 8 to 10 years experience as HSE professional;
- Minimum 4 to 5 years’ experience in leading audits;
- Experienced in developing and deploying an audit program in a manufacturing environment;
- Qualified lead auditor certification from independent certifying body;
- Solid understanding of regulations and standards that apply to the Sofina Foods Canada operations;
- Experience working in, and evidence of successful execution, in a matrix organization;
- Strong computer skill competencies – PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word;
- Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to multi-task on and deliver on expected timelines;
- High level of attention to detail and ability to address any findings in a cost effective & sustainable manner;
- Moderate travel to our Facilities across Canada (40-50%).
