Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Solutions Engineering, the Senior Field Solutions Engineer (FSE) is a technical industry expert who drives software growth by developing technical and operational relationships with customers to support their adoption of Miovision's solutions.
As a technical industry expert, the Senior FSE will integrate into the daily operations of agencies, supporting complex proof of concepts and ongoing initiatives to maximize product value and adoption. This role is specifically assigned to the Focus account segment, targeting the top 20 major North American cities. Within these accounts, this role focuses on expanding beyond the immediately available applications to provide a level of solutions architecture development with the agency. This expert will integrate with and influence the product roadmap by working closely with the product leaders to support large deal acceleration and smart city integrations.
Key Accountabilities
This role is split across two key account segments: Direct Account Support (Focus Accounts) and Regional Focus Accounts.
Direct Account Support:
- Targeted departments
- You will support a city-wide scope, working across key services like Traffic, Transit, Fire, Police, and adjacent services like snow plow and mobility teams. There is a focus on building a cohesive integrated city architecture.
- Technical consultancy and supporting the sales process
- You'll serve as a key technical consultant, deeply understanding the current systems and tools within each account's ecosystem. You'll identify and document gaps between the current and desired customer state, creating a plan of action and recommendations for a successful transition to the desired state outcome, with support from internal Miovision teams and our partners. You'll also document product and feature needs to support design prioritization.
- Solution scoping and design
- You will support solution design, technical documentation, and the implementation plans for new integrations. As accounts evolve, you'll continuously scope out future integration opportunities with both Miovision products and 3rd party systems.
- You'll facilitate collaboration by establishing a clear framework for contributions from various departments and will work alongside project management teams to monitor the progress and implementation of initiatives.
- Pilots and product demonstrations
- You will design and manage all product demonstrations, highlighting the value of our software and applications, as well as taking ownership of pilot installations.
- Product approval and specification process
- With support from the APL team, you'll work to achieve product approvals and partner with customers and prospects to update their ITS specifications to incorporate Miovision's Master Specification.
- Complex issue resolution and customer advocacy
- You will support the resolution of complex product issues that could impact purchases or renewals, acting as a customer advocate to ensure a smooth experience. You'll build strong relationships with Miovision's product and support teams to address ongoing operational issues and potential product deficiencies.
- Proof of value documentation
- You will play a key role in documenting proof of value. By building success within key accounts, you'll create product advocates and champions who can be leveraged for case studies, references, webinars, and our account-based marketing program.
Regional Focus Accounts:
- Targeted department expansion
- You will focus on targeting new agencies within these accounts, bringing together a cohesive, cross-department city solution architecture to expand Miovision's value.
- Technical strategy leader
- You will support and manage the Regional FSEs in these accounts, driving pilots to achieve massive proof of value. Your leadership and strategy will be essential, as the Regional FSE's focus is spread across a larger region.
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalency.
- 8+ years of technical experience with a strong understanding of network products.
- Ability to travel internationally for on-site client consulting.
- Experience with general consulting skills, including team facilitation, business case development, business analysis, process mapping and redesign.
- Strong systems implementation skills, including requirements analysis, conceptual design, configuration, testing, training, change management, and support.
- An analytical nature with the ability to solve complex business issues.
- Basic understanding of product development and engineering processes.
