About the role

Registered Psychologist - Lifemark Health Group, Provincial Mental Health Programs & Services

  • Location: On-site at Lifemark Meadowlark Centre located at #154 Meadowlark Health Centre (corner of 87 Ave and 156 St NW) in Edmonton AB
  • Status: Permanent Full Time, with Part Time option possible
  • Pay: Salary and generous benefits for permanent full-time employees, Fee for service split possible for casual part-time

Lifemark Meadowlark Centre is conveniently located in the Meadowlark medical mall in Edmonton’s west end. Free parking is available.

Lifemark Meadowlark Centre is a large interdisciplinary rehabilitation clinic that offers psychological and physiotherapy services in Edmonton to those injured at work or during regular activities.

Our two Edmonton offices in the mall allow for easy access to diagnostics, lab testing, various specialists and pharmacy. We have a staff of over 50 skilled physicians and clinicians (psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, kinesiologists, pharmacists and nurses) with many years of experience assisting clients at all points along the rehabilitation continuum.

Our skilled Psychologists offer a variety of psycho-diagnostic assessments, as well as treatment strategies such as cognitive-behavioural therapy and biofeedback/relaxation techniques. They incorporate education around breathing and pacing techniques to assist clients with their individualized recovery plans.

Chronic pain management is another area of expertise at our clinic, accessible via both our publicly funded and third-party streams.

As the designated service provider for Partner in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS), Lifemark Health Group is seeking Clinical Psychologists to join our interdisciplinary teams. In this role, you will deliver medical, psychological, psychosocial, and vocational rehabilitation services to eligible veterans. You will also have the opportunity to work with clients referred by third-party funders such as WCB (TPI program), and LTD.

Education and licensure

  • Required: Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Psychology from an accredited university
  • Current registration in good standing with the provincial College of Alberta Psychologists – competency with adult populations; clinical/counselling (asset: trauma, counselling psychology, health/rehabilitation psychology)
  • Individual professional liability insurance required at time of employment

Applied experience

  • Experience with evidence-based trauma-focused therapy is required (i.e., CBT, DBT, ACT, PE, CPT, EMDR)
  • Experience with trauma is an asset
  • Formal training in diagnostic/formal assessments (MMPI-3, PAI) is an asset
  • Conducting psychological assessments with adults for treatment planning purposes
  • Providing various evidence-based treatments grounded in cognitive-behavioral approaches
  • Working in interdisciplinary teams and with third party payers is considered an asset
  • Utilizing telehealth/virtual care methods is considered an asset

Additional abilities

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Efficient with required clinical documentation
  • Able to manage a diverse caseload within dynamic work setting
  • Demonstrated work ethics, integrity, reliability, maturity, and flexibility
  • Preferred (not required): Bilingual - French English
