We're looking for a dynamic Health Promoter to join our School Health tea. A key part of our mission is to create healthier environments where students can learn, grow, and thrive. Why This Role Matters In this role, you’ll be part of a passionate team dedicated to promoting healthy behaviours and environments in school communities. You’ll help shape impactful programs that impact educators, parents, and students to foster lifelong wellness. What You’ll Do Support the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion programs and strategies tailored to school communities Use data and evidence to support decision-making and program development Contribute to performance measurement and evaluation, managing large data sets and analyses Prepare reports, briefing notes, and presentations for internal and external audiences Support the development of health knowledge products for students, families, educators, and school boards Use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance productivity, including program planning, reporting, data analysis, communications, and operational effectiveness. Support schools in building healthier communities by strengthening capacity and fostering collaboration with internal and external partners Represent the School Health team on internal and external committees Apply health promotion knowledge and knowledge of public health sciences including population health, social determinants of health, epidemiology and applicable legislation Ensure that issues of diversity, equity and inclusivity are reflected in health promotion planning and programs What You Bring A university degree in a health-related field At least one year of experience in health promotion program planning and evaluation Experience in public health or school health settings Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered A Vulnerable Sector Police Check is required upon hire Your Skills and Strengths Solid knowledge of public health science, epidemiology, health promotion theories, and the Ontario Public Health Standards Strong analytical skills, including analysis of large data sets and data interpretation Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong planning, facilitation, problem-solving, and organizational skills Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in team settings Strong partnership building and collaborative skills Strong project management skills Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviours, proactively managing bias.
