WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Are you passionate about making a direct impact on patient care through cutting-edge laboratory diagnostics? St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic team. As a member of our healthcare team, you will work in a collaborative environment to provide accurate, timely results that support high-quality patient care.
STEGH Laboratory Services provides 24/7 support. The Medical Laboratory Technologist plays a critical role in the health care system by collecting, processing, analyzing, and interpreting diagnostic laboratory findings. WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

Successfully completed a program in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution

Registration and a member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
-
Computer skills to include the regular use of Outlook, RL6, Cerner, Internet and Intranet navigation

Ability to adapt to changes, use analytical and problem-solving skills while maintaining a high standard of professionalism

Physical ability to complete all tasks required of the position

Excellent attendance record with commitment to meet the hours of work required by the Collective Agreement
-
Acceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH's Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct
WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE:

A minimum of one (1) year of previous laboratory experience preferably in a hospital setting

Working knowledge of Cerner LIS
HOURS:
The successful candidate must be available to work all tours applicable to the department. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required to meet the operational needs of the department and be able to commit to the non-availability standards outlined in the Collective Agreement.
