Join Hall Constructors as a Dispatcher!
The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the scheduling and dispatching of the company's equipment division trucks, including lowbed trucks, Hiab trucks, and other small 1-ton vehicles. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of the Lower Mainland area, adherence to trucking regulations, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Dispatcher ensures efficient routing, timely deliveries, and effective communication between drivers and clients to maintain high service standards.
Your day-to-day will look like:

Coordinate and schedule the dispatch of lowbed trucks, Hiab trucks, and other small 1-ton vehicles to meet client requirements and operational efficiency.

Develop and optimize delivery routes within the Lower Mainland to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of equipment.

Monitor and track the status and location of dispatched vehicles, addressing any issues or delays promptly to maintain service commitments.

Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions and support to ensure compliance with schedules and safety protocols.

Ensure all dispatch activities comply with provincial and federal trucking regulations, including hours of service and load restrictions.

Maintain accurate records of dispatch schedules, driver logs, and delivery documentation for reporting and compliance purposes.

Address and resolve any customer inquiries or concerns related to dispatch operations, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Collaborate with the maintenance department to schedule necessary vehicle maintenance without disrupting service schedules.

Utilize dispatch software and communication tools to manage scheduling, tracking, and reporting functions efficiently.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance dispatch processes and overall operational efficiency.
You have the following qualifications, technical and interpersonal skills:
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or transportation management is an asset.
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dispatching role, preferably within the transportation or construction industry.
-
Familiarity with operating various types of trucks and equipment, including lowbed and Hiab trucks.
-
Thorough knowledge of the Lower Mainland's road networks and traffic regulations.
-
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, or weekends, as operational needs dictate.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in dispatching software and GPS tracking systems.
-
Comprehensive understanding of the Lower Mainland's geography, traffic patterns, and routing considerations.

Knowledge of provincial and federal trucking regulations, including safety standards and compliance requirements.

Ability to analyze logistical challenges and implement effective solutions promptly.

Competence in using standard office software, including word processing and spreadsheets.
Interpersonal Skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with drivers, clients, and team members.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.

Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive approach to addressing operational challenges.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team and foster positive working relationships.
