Accounting Analyst

We are seeking an Accounting Analyst that will support the finance team, enabling effective decision-making at all levels to improve financial performance. This position supports the FP&A function primarily focusing on AP, responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting month-end activities and GR/IR (batch matching).

Specific Accountabilities**:**

  • Monitor and manage accounts payable activities to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.
  • Verify and process invoices efficiently, including batch matching and GRIR activities within SAP/ERP systems, and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Lead AP functions for systems implementation/integration (SAP, OTM, CTRM, Exalca, and Beacon).
  • Accurately manage vendor master data including set up and change process
  • Key contributor in Accounts Payable month end activities including GRIR clearing, reconciliations, schedules and accruals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline AP processes and resolve operational issues.
  • Coordinate with payroll to process employee reimbursements
  • Prepare payment and cash flow reports, secure necessary approvals and execute payments while ensuring compliance with internal controls
  • Collaborate with AP team members, cross train and backup as necessary with a focus on controls and process improvement
  • Review invoice entry data for completeness and accuracy
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to resolve and manage issues as required
  • Ensure backup documentation is saved electronically on a timely basis.
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of the AP mailbox
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining product quality and food safety program practices including BRC, HACCP, QA / QC, GMP, Sanitation and good hygiene practices.
  • Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining health and safety program practices

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting or a related field required, working towards CPA designation an asset

  • 2 plus years' Accounts Payable experience in a computerized environment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Solid analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in Full cycle accounting would be an asset

  • ERP system experience required, SAP experience would be an asset

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and communicate effectively in a variety of situations

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment

  • Proven track record of maintaining strong vendor relations
