About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join our team as Director, Product. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in defining the strategy, development, launch, and continuous evolution of Element’s Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) product platform. You will be accountable for delivering a scalable and profitable product offering aligned to client needs. You will orchestrate cross-functional teams to finalize product structure, implement operating model and go-to-market plans, while driving innovation and operational excellence to achieve measurable business outcomes (growth, profitability, client satisfaction). You will be a strategic thought leader within the organization and across the broader market.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the product platform strategy and execution for SME.
  • Define SME-specific strategies with Commercial, Operations, Marketing, Pricing and Risk to ensure market fit and scalable delivery.
  • Oversee finalization of product structure, pricing, risk, operating model, sales strategy, technology and marketing for launch readiness.
  • Lead MVP rollout and expansion across additional products, functionalities and geographies (including aspects of large corporate and international markets).
  • Define and maintain a multi-release product enhancement roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and evolving client needs.
  • Lead end-to-end requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation for technology-driven product improvements, collaborating closely with Product, Technology, and PCM teams.
  • Drive expansion of digital capabilities across the SME product platform to enhance client experience across origination and servicing needs.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for product completeness and delivery, leveraging KPIs to measure operational performance and client impact.
  • Champion innovation by identifying emerging technologies and operational enhancements that strengthen the product offering and reduce customization complexity.
  • Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on product strategy and product updates.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology or a related field; MBA or master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Automotive Finance or related fields; experience in fleet / transportation highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading successful digital transformation initiatives in complex organizations.
  • Strong understanding of digital and emerging technologies.
  • Highly collaborative and capable of influencing at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

  • Strong enterprise mindset, financial acumen, and customer centricity to navigate complexity and support the broader growth aspirations of the business, leverages strategic analysis of data to inform business decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to transition between strategic and operational aspects to deliver on growth, driving innovation / change to improve the business model.
  • Demonstrated critical thinker that can offer innovative solutions to meet client needs and provide a consistent and superior customer experience.
  • Strong understanding of current technologies and market solutions available to drive business strategies and objectives.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation/communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, customers, and team members.
  • Excellent judgement and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Location: Toronto

The hiring base salary range for this position is $133,400 - $183,400 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
