Role Description The Home Health Aide is a full-time, on-site role based in Cremona, AB. This role involves assisting an elderly client with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support, while promoting safety and comfort. The Home Health Aide provides companionship, engages clients in social and recreational activities, and observes and reports changes in client condition to supervisors or healthcare professionals. Responsibilities also include light housekeeping, meal preparation, and supporting medication reminders according to care plans. The role requires consistent documentation of services provided and collaboration with the care team to ensure personalized, respectful, and client-centered care.

Qualifications

Demonstrated skills in Home Care and Personal Care, including safe assistance with daily routines in a client’s home. Experience supporting Activities of Daily Living and Patient Care, with attention to comfort, safety, and dignity. Transfers with transfer belt from wheelchair to chair. Experience in dementia and non-verbal communication. Compassionate and engaging, ensuring client physical safety and emotional well-being. Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening with clients, families, and team members. Canadian Accent prefered for spoken English. Knowledge of basic health and safety practices, infection control, and emergency response procedures. Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide, Personal Support Worker, or equivalent certificate program with PI Insurance in place. Previous experience in home health, senior care, dementia or disability support is an asset. Ability to work reliably in an on-site setting, including evenings or weekends as needed, and to perform physical tasks such as lifting and transferring clients safely. Current CPR/First Aid certification and clear background check, including vulnerable sector screening, or willingness to obtain.
