WAGE SCALE: $25.21 – $29.08

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Leads, the Maintenance Helper assists with general maintenance activities throughout the plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists with maintaining the facility in good condition.
• Performs basic construction, painting, sanitation and other manual tasks.
• Communicates with other departments in a courteous and diplomatic manner, always showing a high degree of cooperation.
• Is aware of critical control points as they relate to product liability.
• Works responsibly throughout scheduled shifts.
• Responsible for compliance with Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company safety standards.
• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing tasks in production areas.
• Performs other tasks, including training, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A grade 12 education or equivalent.

• Excellent mechanical aptitude.

• Maintenance experience in an industrial setting.

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good working relationship with supervisors and fellow employees.

• Willing and available for shiftwork, including weekends, holidays and emergency callouts as required.
