BREAST RADIOLOGIST – HAMILTON JURAVINSKI SITE

The Department of Medical Imaging, McMaster University and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Hamilton Health Sciences are seeking a full-time academic breast and oncology imaging radiologist for the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre site.

The Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre (JHCC) is one of the largest and most comprehensive Regional Cancer Programs in Ontario, with a large tertiary referral population. The radiology team supports the Juravinski Hospital Oncology service and is committed to providing optimal evidence-based care to patients who are diagnosed with or suspected of having oncologic disease. The site is also home to the CIBC Breast Assessment Centre. The hospital provides a full range of diagnostic clinical services for adult medicine and surgical subspecialties, with a focus on oncology. This position involves scheduling in tertiary hospital and community practice settings. Clinical assignments include some general radiology, as well as participation in the department general radiologist on-call schedule. Applicants must possess skills which will enhance our tertiary oncology imaging team and multi-disciplinary programs. The ideal applicant will have completed a fellowship in body and breast imaging with experience in oncology radiology. Scheduled work encompasses subspecialty and teaching rounds, including regular participation in multidisciplinary tumour board rounds. Radiology skills must be inclusive of all imaging modalities.

This is a full-time faculty position at McMaster University, with academic rank commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will promote clinical scholarship through teaching, mentorship and support for research and will demonstrate excellence in clinical care, and exhibit collegial, civil relations in all interactions. Participation in teaching and supervision for our strong residency and subspecialty programs, as well as undergraduate programs is required. The McMaster Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is a highly rated training program in Canada. There are well established fellowship programs at the site.

Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario, certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) and meet the credentialing requirements of Hamilton Health Sciences and radiology group affiliated community practices.
