Position Summary
The Door Shop Lead Hand is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Door Shop, providing hands-on leadership, coordination, and support to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This position acts as a working lead, supporting both the production team and management by monitoring workflow, training employees, and ensuring materials and schedules align with operational priorities. The shifts are Monday - Friday and the wage range is $25-$30 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a positive and safe work environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
- Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Lead day-to-day operations of the Door Shop to ensure efficient workflow and production output.
- Support the Production Supervisor in organizing labor, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress.
- Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and mentorship to production team members.
- Ensure products meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Monitor equipment and materials to ensure safe, continuous operation; report maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, and communication between production, shipping, and management.
- Promote and enforce health and safety policies and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements.
- Step in as a key point of contact for the department in the absence of the Production Supervisor.
Basic Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or door production environment.
- Previous leadership or lead hand experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of door assembly processes, materials, and CNC equipment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and measurements accurately.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Basic computer literacy (Dayforce, Seradex), or similar systems).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Standing for longs periods of time.
- Frequently performing repetitive tasks.
- Exposure to manufacturing environment conditions (noise, dust, etc.).
