The Investment Specialist (IS) is responsible for the provision of ongoing service delivery and the proactive sale of investment products to a portfolio of assigned customers through managing, building business or referring customers while remaining compliant with our policies, processes and procedures, and in support of our customer centric service model. The IS will provide a superior level of customer service that will enhance individual customer relationships to ensure that both individual and branch goals and objectives are achieved. The IS will be required to source opportunities, build out a portfolio and where appropriate make referrals to other business lines or to an Investment Advisor.

Please Note: The successful candidate would be expected to work on site at our South Granville, River District, and Metrotown advice centers.

What you’ll do:

  • Manages an assigned book of investment business encompassing primarily term deposits and mutual funds.
  • Builds and maintains strong, trusted member relationships by providing customized service based on customers investment planning needs and risk profile.
  • Proactively follows up on new and existing clients using appropriate contact and service protocols, referral, and maturity dates.
  • Ensures retention of existing clients by providing professional advice/services and added value.
  • Provides consultative services when required for mutual fund investment related member interactions managed by branch management and staff.
  • Establishes relationships with potential new customers through proactive networking, sourcing and follow up.

What you bring:

  • 3 years’ experience in front line position within a financial institution with proven sales experience in RRSP/Investment deposits.
  • Experience selling 3rd Party Mutual Funds.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
  • Detailed experience with deposit related products, personal lending, and residential mortgages
  • Courses towards or completion of CFP Designation
  • Familiarity with Conquest financial planning software
  • Familiarity with Morningstar AWS

What We Offer:

Prospera offers a total compensation package of base salary plus incentives that is market competitive and reviewed annually. Our expected starting salary for this role is $35.89 per hour + sales incentives.
