About the Role
This is a high-impact leadership role in a complex and fast-evolving environment. Our business unit faces a high volume of nuanced, sophisticated reporting and analytics requests, and we are seeking a leader who can accelerate our maturity — transitioning us from a reactive reporting model to a proactive, intelligence-driven capability.
This role requires a strategic yet hands-on leader who can deliver immediate results while building the structure, governance, and tools required for long-term scalability. You will serve as the senior BI partner to business leadership, while leading a team of BI Specialists and Analysts through a period of meaningful transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the BI Transformation
- Define and execute a clear roadmap to evolve the function from reactive reporting to proactive, insight-led decision support.
- Establish standardized reporting frameworks and rationalize fragmented dashboards.
- Develop curated, governed datasets that enable scalable self-serve analytics.
- Implement structured intake, prioritization, and delivery processes to manage complex and evolving demands.
- Drive measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and adoption of BI tools.
Deliver with Discipline in a Complex Environment
- Lead the team through high volumes of nuanced and technically complex requests.
- Balance business-as-usual reporting needs with strategic transformation initiatives.
- Introduce structured ways of working to improve predictability, transparency, and throughput.
- Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and performance optimization.
- Maintain strong focus on execution and delivery excellence.
People Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Senior BI Analysts and BI Specialists.
- Clarify roles, expectations, and performance standards during a period of change.
- Build a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen technical rigor in data modeling, visualization standards, and BI best practices.
Strategic Partnership & Collaboration
- Serve as the primary BI partner to business unit leadership.
- Translate complex business challenges into scalable analytics solutions.
- Influence decision-making through structured insights and thoughtful data storytelling.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, IT, and other business units to align on data standards and infrastructure.
Hands-On Technical Leadership
- Provide senior-level oversight of Power BI development, including:
- Data modeling architecture
- Visualization standards and usability
- Performance tuning
- Step in to unblock delivery or solve complex analytical challenges when required.
- Ensure solutions are designed for sustainability and reuse, not one-off delivery.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data roles.
- 3+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing analytics teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading BI transformation or maturity uplift initiatives.
- Advanced expertise in Power BI
- Strong operational discipline and structured problem-solving approach.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in high-demand, ambiguous environments.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Track record of balancing rapid delivery with long-term strategic progress.
