The Honest Version of This Job

Neo is entering a new phase. The product is strong, the brand is getting sharper, and we have meaningful budget to put behind marketing for the first time. What we don't have yet is the execution backbone to make sure that investment actually works.

That's what this role is.

We need someone who knows how to run a great campaign from brief to result. Someone who can look at what brand is building and what performance is optimizing and figure out how those two things become one coherent motion. Right now they're not connected the way they need to be. This person connects them.

The role doesn't exist yet at Neo. You're building it from scratch, and you'll be setting the direction for how a the marketing org actually executes. That's not a management job. It's a highly impactful and influential practitioner job with real scale and real stakes.

What You're Walking Into

The marketing team is 19 people, with broader campaign execution extending across a significantly larger group. Performance marketing is a genuine strength. Brand is getting rebuilt. Lifecycle is new. Integrated marketing, the layer that makes all of it work together, is the gap you're filling.

You'll report to the VP of Marketing. The direction you set on how campaigns run, how channels connect, and how the brand shows up in market will shape what a much larger team produces. The influence is real. So is the accountability.

Neo is about to increase its marketing spend meaningfully. The question isn't whether to invest. It's whether the org can execute well enough to make that investment count. This role exists to answer yes.

What This Job Actually Requires

You've run great campaigns. Actually run them, end to end, across channels, with results you can point to and explain. You know what good looks like at brief stage, at production, at launch, and in the data afterward. You hold the bar because you've seen it done well elsewhere.

You have genuine brand sensibility. Not just an appreciation for it. The ability to look at creative work and know whether it's right, to push back with a specific argument, to protect the quality of the work when the pressure is to move faster or spend cheaper. This is not a pure performance role. The person who thrives here cares about the work as much as the numbers.

You connect the dots between strategy and execution. A lot of people can do one or the other. Fewer can translate a brand positioning into a channel plan and then stay close enough to execution to make sure the campaign that ships actually reflects the strategy that was approved. That's the core skill this job requires.

You lead and influence through credibility. You'll be setting direction for a large group of people without direct authority over most of them. That works when your judgment is sound and your track record is visible. It doesn't work if you need a reporting line to get things done.

You've worked at companies where the marketing bar was high. You know what it feels like when a campaign is genuinely good because you've been held to that standard before.

What We're Not Looking For

Someone who has spent their career at companies with weak consumer brands. You can't raise a bar you haven't experienced. If you've never worked somewhere that ran campaigns worth noticing, the gap shows quickly.

Someone who is purely strategic. This role requires close contact with execution. If your instinct is to hand off to a team once the strategy is set and check back in at the results stage, this isn't the right fit.

Someone who has been at the same company or the same type of company for their entire career. The integrated marketing challenge at a high-growth fintech is specific. We want people who have been exposed to different contexts and brought something back from each one.

Someone without cross-channel campaign experience. Digital-only or brand-only backgrounds are a gap here. The job is specifically about making multiple channels work together.

The Compensation Reality

This role offers a substantial compensation package designed to align your success directly with Neo's trajectory.

A competitive base salary.

A cash-based Short Term Incentive Plan (STIP) tied to company performance and individual impact.

Meaningful equity that provides long-term upside tied directly to Neo's growth.

The Basics

  • 8+ years in marketing with hands-on campaign execution across multiple channels
  • Demonstrated experience at consumer-facing companies with high brand standards
  • D2C experience is a strong advantage; agency or client-side both considered
  • Track record of running integrated campaigns from brief to results, not just overseeing them
  • Based in Canada; we work in-person
