About the role
As the Manager, Supply Chain Management Field Equipment at Millennium EMS Solutions Ltd., you will oversee procurement and inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain analytics. MEMS uses a variety of equipment for environmental consulting including small hand tools, rental vehicles and scientific monitoring devices. You will lead a geographically dispersed team across five Canadian offices, ensuring operational alignment with company standards, safety protocols, and financial objectives. This role is also responsible for contributing to monthly management reporting, internal communications, and supporting project mobilizations through effective equipment readiness and deployment strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Procurement Management
- Analyze product performance, usage rates, and seasonality to inform proactive inventory planning
- Conduct ongoing vendor reviews to ensure best pricing, quality, and terms
- Identify and negotiate supplier contracts and freight partnerships
- Review and approve equipment purchase orders
Warehouse Operations & Logistics
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse operations, optimizing layout and processes for maximum efficiency
- Conduct bi-annual site compliance audits and process optimization reviews at all MEMS offices
- Collaborate with the HSE department to ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols
- Ensure accurate tracking and management of MEMS’ assets
Analytics & Performance Insights
- Deliver actionable insights and performance reports on key supply chain KPIs to senior leadership
- Monitor and model product and freight costs to support accurate budgeting and forecasting
- Build dashboards or reports to identify cost-saving opportunities and supply chain risk mitigation strategies
Team & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Lead and coach warehouse team members, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence
- Collaborate with internal teams to align inventory planning with business objectives
What You Bring:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting, Business or related field
- Minimum 5 years of supply chain experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, inventory cycles, and vendor negotiations
- Previous experience in a business, retail, or low-volume distribution environment preferred
Other Knowledge and Skills:
- Deep understanding of inventory forecasting, supply planning, and procurement systems
- Strong data analytics background — advanced Excel proficiency required
- Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Skilled at problem solving, risk mitigation, and process optimization
- Strong interpersonal and written communications skills
- Able to develop working relationships with all areas of the organization
- Methodical and systematic, with attention to detail
- Able to multi-task, establish priorities, work well under pressure and tight deadlines both individually and in a team environment
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and be able to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment that requires sitting for extended periods of time
- Prolonged exposure to computer keyboards and computer screens
- Some travel to other MEMS offices may be required on occasion
- Required to walk, stand, climb, bend forward, kneel down, crawl, reach and grasp, push and pull objects, lift and/or move up to 30 kg, sometimes over the shoulders, repetitive bending and lifting of items, along with repetitive arm movements
